MEET PAUL RATOFF

Professional Experience

Paul Ratoff is a Certified Management Consultant, Strategic Management Professional and President of Ratoff Consulting.  He is also President of the Foundation for Purposeful Organizations.  Paul has been a business consultant in Southern California for over thirty years assisting a wide range of middle-market companies plan and manage their growth and success.

Paul began his consulting career as a partner with a small Los Angeles-based firm, and then later formed his own firm, Ratoff & Associates, to assist young companies and companies in crisis in the areas of strategic and financial planning, debt restructuring, and turnaround management. For the next eleven years Paul was associated with two regional accounting firms managing their local consulting practices—first at Stonefield Josephson LLC and then at Moss Adams LLP. During this period, Paul specialized in assisting successful middle-market companies improve their profitability and cash flow through strategic and financial planning.

In the latter part of 2000, Paul started Ratoff Consulting to coach small to mid-size companies to develop a competitive advantage in their markets using the licensed methodology, Chart Your Own Course. Ratoff Consulting was incorporated in 2003 under the name of Strategy Development Group, Inc.

Over his career, Paul has assisted hundreds of manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and service companies in addressing their financial and strategic concerns and implementing their business solutions.

Prior to entering the consulting field, Paul was vice president and chief financial officer of Hadron, Inc. a publicly traded high-technology company headquartered in Southern California. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Rochester, Paul holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Administration from Carnegie-Mellon University Graduate School of Industrial Administration (GSIA), is a Certified Management Consultant, and member of the Institute of Management Consultants and a Certified Strategic Management Professional and member of the Association for Strategic Planning.

Paul had been a frequent contributor to the “Business Makeover” section of the Los Angeles Times and has published numerous articles on a variety of topics concerning middle-market business owners in the areas of strategic and financial management. He is also the author of Thriving in a New Stakeholder World, Purpose as the New Competitive Advantage.

My personal commitment in each client relationship is to support owners and leaders in focusing and managing the resources of their enterprise more effectively in pursuit of its Purpose and in so doing maximize the value of their efforts.
